Baron Layton, of Danehill in the County of Sussex,[1] is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1947 for Sir Walter Layton, a prominent economist, editor and newspaper proprietor. The heir presumptive was the present holder's uncle, David Layton, until his death in 2009, and is now his uncle's son, his first cousin Jonathan Francis Layton (b. 1942), whose heir apparent is his son Jeremy Layton (b. 1978).
