It is from the Usti section.[1] The species was first described in 2011.[2] It has been isolated from soil in Turkey.[1] It has been reported to produce an austocystin, deflectins, emerin, and a shamixanthone.[2] Growth and morphologyA. turkensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
