}}Aspistor hardenbergi is a species of sea catfish in the family Ariidae.[2] It was described by Patricia J. Kailola in 2000, originally under the genus Arius.[3] It inhabits tropical marine and brackish waters in southern New Guinea. It reaches a maximum standard length of {{convert|25.4|cm|in|abbr=on}}.[2] The species epithet, "hardenbergi", was given in honour of J.D.F. Hardenberg, both for his contributions to ichthyology in the Indo-Australian region, and for his recognition that A. hardenbergi was a new species.[2] References1. ^Synonyms of Aspistor hardenbergi at fishbase.org. {{Taxonbar|from=Q2303760}}{{Ariidae-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{FishBase |genus=Aspistor |species=hardenbergi |month=April |year=2016}} 3. ^Kailola, P.
