It was an organized counterattack by Filipino forces on U.S. forces that was executed on March 10, 1899, retaking the town of Jaro on the island of Panay in the Philippines.[1] Philippine revolutionaries led by General Pascual Magbanua together with his sister Teresa Magbanua on an attack despite the weapon disadvantage this battle resulted in Philippine forces retaking Jaro from the American. The number of Filipino casualties was not defined.[2] Because of her valor despite being a woman Teresa Magbanua was given a prominent place in the celebration, and lead her troops into the city while riding a white horse.[3] References1. ^http://www.thenewstoday.info/2006/10/20/nay.isa.the.bravest.woman.fighter.of.iloilo.html {{coord missing|Philippines}}2. ^http://journals.upd.edu.ph/index.php/rws/article/view/3093/2910 3. ^http://ojs.philippinestudies.net/index.php/ps/article/viewFile/694/696 5 : Battles of the Philippine–American War|History of Iloilo City|March 1899 events|1899 in the Philippines|Conflicts in 1899 |
