It is a wooden jail, about {{convert|16x9|ft|m}} in plan, with a gable roof, built of heavy sawn timbers.[2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.[1] It was deemed "significant as a rare and intact example of a turn-of-the-century wooden municipal jail. It stands in contrast to the larger brick county jails, the most common type of historical jail in the state."[2] It is located on First Street (Georgia State Route 118) between Johnson and Thornton Streets in Bronwood.[2] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{GeorgiaUS-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=82002483}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Bronwood Calaboose |publisher=National Park Service|author= Erick Montgomery |author2=Carolyn Brooks |date=February 25, 1982 |accessdate=October 28, 2017}} With {{NRHP url|id=82002483|photos=y|title=four photos from 1981}}. 3 : National Register of Historic Places in Georgia (U.S. state)|Buildings and structures completed in 1900|Terrell County, Georgia |
