DescriptionThe female ranges from about {{convert|3.5|to|5.7|mm|in}}, and the male has an average length of about {{convert|4.6|mm|in}}.[1] DistributionC. acutus is found in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic waters, from sea level to {{convert|1000|m|ft}} in depth.[1]EcologyLife history and reproductionWhile C. acutus is only confirmed to breed from November to March,[2] it likely starts breeding in early October, as a study observed females without eggs and late-stage nauplii presumably belonging to this copepod in mid-November.[4] Stage I through III copepodites are generally found from sea level to {{convert|100|m|ft}} of depth.
