Charlie Cooper is a writer, actor, musician and comedian from Gloucestershire in England. He is an actor and co-writer of the BBC comedy This Country with his sister Daisy May Cooper.[1][2][3] In 2018 he was nominated for and won three Royal Television Awards for best ‘Scripted Comedy’, ‘Comedy Performance’ and ‘’Comedy Writing’.[4] He was also nominated for and won best ‘Scripted Comedy’ at the 2018 BAFTA awards for his work on This Country,[5] as well as winning "Breakthrough Talent" at the BAFTA Craft Awards. [6][7]Personal lifeBrought up in Cirencester he and sister used to make films using their mum’s camcorder. He dropped out of university to live with his sister in London who was at RADA and they began writing. They both returned to their childhood home and worked night shifts as cleaners whilst creating scripts for This Country.
