It is a Grade II* listed building.[1] HistoryThe church was built in 1846, by Benjamin Ferrey, on the site of an earlier church.[1] The previous medieval church, next to the River Brue had been flooded and was in disrepair.[2] The parish is part of the Wheathill Priory Group of parishes making up the benefice within the Diocese of Bath and Wells.[3] ArchitectureThe stone building has Doulting stone dressings and a tile roof. It consists of a nave, chancel and north aisle. The west tower is supported by set-back buttresses.[1] The tower contains a peal of six bells.[4] The interior of the church includes a 15th century font. Some of the memorial tablets are by Reeves of Bath. Some of the stained glass is by William Wailes.[1] References{{Commons category}}1. ^1 2 3 4 {{cite web|title=Church of St. Peter|url=https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1175052|website=National Heritage List for England|publisher=Historic England|accessdate=31 December 2017}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=Parishes: East Lydford.
