词条 Donald Drew Egbert
释义 {{unreferenced|date=September 2016}}

Donald Drew Egbert (1902–1973) was an American art historian.

Egbert was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. He studied at Princeton University, graduating in 1924, and became a lecturer in architectural history at Bryn Mawr College in 1930. At this time, his specialty was medieval art history, although he maintained a strong interest in American architectural history, publishing in both areas. Returning to Princeton in 1968, he became Butler Professor of the History of Architecture.

A major contribution by Egbert to the history of art was the publication of the large work, Social Radicalism and the Arts, Western Europe: A Cultural History from the French Revolution to 1968 (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1970). It was one of the first published surveys of radical political agendas in the history of western art.

Egbert retired in 1970. He died in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1973.
