释义 |
The Fox Theatre (Paso Robles) building sits on the original El Camino Real Freeway. The Fox was formerly known as the Hi-Ho Theatre when it was opened in late June 1941 and continued as the Hi-Ho until 1957 when the name was changed to the Fox Theatre. The theatre continued to operate as the Fox Theater until it was closed in 1970.[1] The theatre was mentioned in the December 24th 1955 issues of Boxoffice: "Hi-Ho Theatre To Be Re-Opened. Temporary closing of the T&D Theatre for a $100,000 remodeling program…was announced today by William H. Thedford, northern California division manager for Fox-West Coast Theatre Corporation. To accommodate local theatre-goers during the time the T and D must be closed, the company is reconditioning the Hi-Ho Theatre on north Spring street and all films scheduled for the T and D will be shown there. It will take about two weeks to re-equip the Hi-Ho with new seats, sound equipment and other facilities, but the company plans the reopening by Christmas. Meanwhile, the T and D will close after the Saturday night performance."[2] In 2016 plans were proposed to convert the building into a micro-brewery & bar.[3] References1. ^{{cite web | url=http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/7783/ | title=Fox Theatre in Paso Robles, CA - Cinema Treasures}} 2. ^http://www2.boxoffice.com/the_vault/page_thumbnails?issue_id=1955-12-24&page=1 3. ^{{cite web | url=http://pasoroblesdailynews.com/refind-distillery-purchases-iconic-paso-robles-fox-theatre/54808/ | title=Re:Find distillery purchases iconic Paso Robles Fox Theatre - Paso Robles Daily News}} |
