Hotelier of the year is an annual award presented by The Caterer to the UK's leading hotel owners and general managers.

Founded by former Caterer editor Joe Hyam.[1] in 1983, the Hotelier of the Year is chosen by a panel of industry experts and former winners.

Since 2007, the award has been judged as part of the Hotel Cateys, with the new Hotelier of the Year presented to the industry at a celebratory lunch hosted by the previous winner.

Notable former Hotelier of the Year include Soho House founder Nick Jones[2], Home Grown Hotels founder Robin Hutson [3] and Malmaison founder Ken McCulloch[4]
