Ida Abdalkhani is a speaker, author, lecturer, and entrepreneur. She is the Chief Catalyzer and Founder of Ability to Engage, Inc.

Early Life and Education

Ida attended The Ohio State University from 2000 to 2005, enrolling in the Honor’s Program.[1][2] During her five years at The Ohio State University in the Max M. Fischer College of Business, Ida earned three degrees: a B.S.B.A. in Entrepreneurship, a B.A. in Interpersonal Communications, and a M.B.A. in Marketing and Strategy.[3][4][5][6] Additionally, Ida completed Minors in Middle Eastern History, Economics, Real Estate, and International Business.[4] Ida was named the 89th Homecoming Queen of The Ohio State University in 2001.[7][6][8] She was the youngest person to be crowned Homecoming Queen at the university.[8] Ida was the Second Ohio State Alumni Magazine Featured Alumni.[3] Ida was recognized by Ohio State with the 2017 William Oxley Thompson Alumni Award.[2][6]

Professional Life

As an undergraduate, Ida interned with The Coca-Cola Company at their headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked in their Sports Marketing group.[1] As an M.B.A. student, she interned with Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. Following her graduation from The Ohio State University, Ida started working full-time for Procter & Gamble.[2][6]

Ida started her professional career in brand management with Procter & Gamble in their Fabric Care division, working on Downy Fabric Softener and Bounce Dryer Sheets.[4] Her work on the re-design and re-launch of the Bounce brand led to being a design finalist for Procter & Gamble’s redesign awards and several patents.[9] After her work in Fabric Care, Ida was promoted to a role in the Beauty Care division.[4] Ida worked as the Global Brand Manager of Secret Deodorants, followed by Olay Body Care.[4] Ida has been cited on six patents with the United States Patent Trademark Office for her work with Procter & Gamble.[8][10] In 2010, Ida resigned from Procter & Gamble to travel the world.[4] Ida received the Procter & Gamble Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2017.[10][11] Additionally, Ida is on the Ohio Business Week Managing Board of Trustees[10] and is a member of the [https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbesagencycouncil/#165aa0bc2866 Forbes Agency Council].[10]

In 2012, Ida began her company, Ability to Engage, to better connect companies with their audiences.[4][6][12] Ability to Engage (A2E) focuses on discovering deeply rooted consumer motivations and using those as catalyzers for brand strategy and innovation.[10][13] A2E works with companies like Procter & Gamble, Red Bull, Pfizer, PepsiCo, as well as a number of startups.[10][13] As Chief Catalyzer, Ida specializes in crafting custom solutions and action plans for clients.[10]

Ida teaches courses in entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University Max M. Fischer College of Business and the University of Michigan College of Engineering.[2][7][13][14] Ida was one of 3 Day Startup's Top 10 Entrepreneurship Professors of 2016.[15]

Ida delivered a TED talk on Laughter Yoga at the 2015 TEDx conference at The Ohio State University.[2][16] Ida is also a published author of a self-help journal, 100 Conversation Changers: Daily Quotes and Guided Journal Entries to Change the Conversations Around You and About You, which highlights lessons learned from her travels.[10][17]
