His first appearance in the game series was Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back although he did have a minor role in the manga "Dansu! De Jump! Na Daibouken". He was then added as a playable character in Crash team racing (CTR) as an unlockable character with a cheat code which you would use a button combination in the main menu. He is also mentioned in the Crash Bandicoot Remake (N.sane Trilogy) specifically Crash Bandicoot: Warped where he is shown in the boss fight with Dingodile. Crash Team Racing (CTR)Penta Penguin is an unlockable playable character through a cheat code if players hold down R1 and L1 and press down, right, triangle, down, left, triangle, and up, at the main menu, he will then become playable except in story/adventure mode. He was made as a secret character. He had the same stats as beginner racers Polar and Pura in the NTSC-U version, in the PAL and NTSC-J version though he is the only character that has maxed out stats. Penta Penguins character is left unfinished in the NTSC version of the game, placeholder lines for the character were used instead of his actual penguin noises, he would say "Penguin Yay One" or "Penguin Yay Two".
