Plutus will allow users to access and manage both crypto and fiat from one user interface, conveniently exchange between the two, and spend anywhere via a Plutus Debit Card or the mobile app. Plutus is currently in beta, the full feature update is due for release in 2019. Plutus uses their own peer-to-peer decentralised technology known as the PlutusDEX to facilitate highly secure conversions between crypto and fiat[2]. Customers who spend using the service are rewarded up to 3% back in the form of Pluton (PLU), the company’s native utility token. HistoryThe London-based start-up was founded in 2015 by Danial Daychopan with the aim of incentivising and enabling practical day-to-day usage of digital currencies without having to wait for merchant adoption. Plutus was funded via a 9-day flash crowdfunding that raised circa $1M USD.[3] Users are able to seamlessly convert the amount of cryptocurrency necessary for a purchase into regular currency and spend at over 400 million merchants using the existing payment infrastructure. Since then, the company has evolved into a complete money management application. Danial Daychopans’ most recent announcement states “Our team is thoughtfully developing a finance app with a blockchain-based rewards system that will inadvertently increase real-world adoption of cryptocurrencies.
