Pt. Soumendu Lahiri, lead guitarist belongs to a family of musicians. His father late Amalendu Lahiri was disciple of famous singer Dhananjay Bhattachaerjee and Ustad Abu Daud khan. From early childhood Soumendu showed an inclination for Indian classical music and initiated into learning classical music, Bhajan, Shyama Sangeet form his father and Ustad Abu Daud khan. Imbibing a sense of rhythm he was attracted to Spanish Guitar at an early age and started his lessons from Guitarist Dr. Harsha Dasgupta, Soumen Sarker. He also took talim from famous Guitarist Gouri Prasad Banerjee (Choton). Pt. Soumendu Lahiri has performed successfully at several concerts in India. He has received appreciation and blessing from Banga-Bibhushan Pt. Arun Bhaduri, Grammy Award Winner Padma-bhushan Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, famous Tabla Player Pt. Samar Saha. Besides this he has been praised by many other respected musicians, Institutions V.I.Ps etc. He has written a Hindi shayeri book "SANAM".
