释义 | Dr. Rakesh Batabyal is a well known historian who has researched, worked on and contributed immensely to Modern Indian history. He is the writer of the book "Communism In Bengal" and "JNU: Making of a University" which is one of the greatest books about a historical institution written in the 21st century. Rakesh Batabyal was born in Bokaro steel city and completed his schooling in Bokaro. He was always at the top of his class and was regarded as a smart and intellectual thinker from a very early age. He took arts in his plus one and he was the topper of his school and the Bihar board in 1981. After doing very well in his examinations, he went to Ranchi, in present day Jharkhand for college education to St. Xavier's College. He came to Jawaharlal Nehru University for further education and got into the History center. He completed his MA, Masters in Philosophy, and PHD under the guidance of Shree Bipan Chandra, one of the greatest intellectual thinkers, academicians, researchers and political thinkers of his time and wrote profound books which are referred for basic understandings of the history of Modern India and colonization of India by the British. Dr. Rakesh Batabyal is currently a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, in New Delhi, teaching Media studies in the school of Social sciences. |
