Hurley was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts[1] in 1973[2]. He briefly attended the Berklee College of Music before becoming a full time musician[3]. Hurley played bass with the band Vertical Horizon early in his career, and has since gone on to play with a number of artists including John Mayer, Lady Antebellum, Lana Del Rey, Alanis Morissette, Idina Menzel, Leonard Cohen, Robin Thicke, Anastacia among others[4].
