Shayma Fawwaz comes from a diverse background in finance, healthcare, education, art and fashion. Visionary Emirati entrepreneur and founder Dr. Shayma Fawwaz[1] launched the progressive and forward-thinking GOSSIP[1][2] The Brand in 2013 with the intent to establish a multi-concept company delivering an array of new tastes, innovative services and groundbreaking style with Emirati influences to the region. EducationHer diverse background and extensive experience consists of a Bachelor of Science in Micro Biology with a Business Administration Minor and PhD in Genetics from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., working at the Children National Medical Center, also in Washington, D.C. which is rated as one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the United States. She also holds an EMBA from the London Business School, London, UK. CareerPrior to the founding of GOSSIP[1][2], she held various management roles and work experiences across the UAE and abroad across sectors. In healthcare and education, Shayma held several posts, including as Vice President for Healthcare at Mubadala Investment Company as well as Office Manager for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi; and Chief Operating Officer of Sharjah American International School, an American-based school designed for the UAE. Abroad, she worked at the Children National Medical Center in Washington DC, one of the United States’ top 10 paediatric hospitals. Shayma is experienced in finance and investments and has played a key role at the Dubai International Financial Center as the Director of International Investments. She also initiated numerous global projects and was entrusted the privilege to welcome foreign dignitaries and delegations. Shayma has a keen eye on art and fashion and formerly sat as Board Member and Art Patron of Art Dubai Fair, and an active member of the Friends of Arts for Abu Dhabi Arts. She has worked as Asset Manager at both Villa Moda and Art Dubai. She is a member of Emirates Business Women Council, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, SAIS and the Golden Key National Honor Society in Washington DC.
