}}Smokey Joe & The Kid is a French hip-hop-electro group from Bordeaux. Biography Formed in 2009, the group Smokey Joe & The Kid is made up of two beatmakers from Bordeaux, Matthieu Perrein and Hugo Sanchez. Hugo Sanchez is also known for his solo project under the name of Senbeï. The group produces hip-hop in which bass music meets jazz, funk and soul. It has also created official remixes for the groups C2C, Deluxe and Chinese Man. Originally a duo, the formation from Bordeaux of Smokey Joe & The Kid from now on performs as a live band. Smokey Joe & The Kid notably collaborated with numerous artists such as a Fred Wesley (James Brown), Pigeon John, Puppetmastaz, R-Wan (Java), ASM, Chill Bump, Youthstar (Chinese Man), Charles X, Yoshi, Ua Tea, NON Genetic (Shadowhuntaz), Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), The Procussions, Blake Worrell (Puppetmastaz), Lateef The Truthspeaker (Quanum Project), MysDiggi, or Dj Netik. With over 12 million views on YouTube and 2.5 million listens on SoundCloud, Smokey Joe & The Kid benefits from a certain renown around the world. The group already has several tours to its credit, in France and abroad (Canada, China, Russia, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Columbia, Costa Rica, Switzerland…).
