TechVets[1] is a UK not-for-profit company which supports military veterans and service leavers into careers in information security. Launched in early 2018[2], with General Sir Richard Barrons, KCB, CBE as the Ambassador[3][4]. The volunteer run organisation works in partnership with The Royal Foundation[5], The Ministry of Defence[6], and [https://www.crest-approved.org/ CREST][7]. TechVets launched [https://vets.immersivelabs.online The Veterans' Cyber Academy] through partnership with [https://www.immersivelabs.com/ Immersive Labs], which was described by Robert Hannigan, former Director of GCHQ, as: "the most exciting thing I’ve seen in this space: scalable, agile and appropriate to the way a new generation learns. It has the potential to disrupt and transform this crucial market"[8]. By February 2019 more than 2,000 veterans have received the free training[9]. In December 2018 TechVets was nominated for a Sun Military Award for Support for the Armed Forces[10]. {{AFC submission|t||ts=20190215232600|u=Winterfell72|ns=118|demo=}}References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://techvets.co/|title=TechVets|website=TechVets|language=en-US|access-date=2019-02-15}} {{AFC submission|||ts=20190215232820|u=Winterfell72|ns=118}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=http://social.techcrunch.com/2018/02/28/techvets-launches-to-offer-uk-military-veterans-a-route-into-cyber-and-startups/|title=TechVets launches to offer UK military veterans a route into cyber and startups|website=TechCrunch|language=en-US|access-date=2019-02-15}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com:443/news/non-profit-military-vets-into-cyber/|title=Non-Profit Aims to Bring More Military Vets into Cyber Roles|last=Muncaster|first=Phil|date=2018-03-06|website=Infosecurity Magazine|access-date=2019-02-15}} 4. ^{{Cite web|url=https://securityintelligence.com/in-plain-sight-why-military-veterans-are-a-great-fit-for-cybersecurity-careers/|title=In Plain Sight: Why Military Veterans Are a Great Fit for Cybersecurity Careers|date=2018-04-05|website=Security Intelligence|language=en-US|access-date=2019-02-15}} 5. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.royalfoundation.com/programme/veterans-employment|title=Royal Foundation|website=www.royalfoundation.com|access-date=2019-02-15}} 6. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ministry-of-defence-teams-up-with-innovative-start-up-to-train-next-generation-of-cyber-veterans|title=Ministry of Defence teams up with innovative start-up to train next generation of cyber veterans|website=GOV.UK|language=en|access-date=2019-02-15}} 7. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.crestcon.co.uk/sponsors-exhibitors/|title=CRESTCon Congress Sponsors|website=Crest and IISP|language=en|access-date=2019-02-15}} 8. ^{{Cite journal|last=|first=|date=|title=Spotlight on Cyber Security|url=https://www.newstatesman.com/sites/default/files/ns_spotlight_cyber_security_supplement_may_2018.pdf|journal=New Statesman|volume=|pages=26|via=}} 9. ^{{Cite web|url=https://techvets.co|title=TechVets Third Cohort of 1,700 launches in January 2019|last=|first=|date=|website=|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|access-date=2019-02-15}} 10. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7965128/the-sun-military-awards-nominees/|title=Selfless and heroic Armed Forces nominated for The Sun's Military Awards|date=2018-12-12|website=The Sun|language=en-GB|access-date=2019-02-15}} |
