Venkat Viswanathan

Venkatasubramanian 'Venkat' Viswanathan is an Indian-Amercian battery scientist and a faculty of Mechanical Engineering, at Carnegie Mellon University[1][2] who works at the Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation and focuses on next-generation battery technology. He is popularly called upon to evaluate advancements in battery technology in several cases like the feasibility of Electric Semi-Trucks,[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Tesla Roadster 2020,[10][11] Electric Airplanes,[12][13][14][15] and E-cigarettes.[16][17][18][19]

Background

Venkat Viswanathan, son of Balasubramanian Viswanathan was born in India. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and his PhD at Stanford University under Jens Norskov.
