In 2012, Wipro demerged its IT business into a separate business entity.[3] HistoryWipro was initially incorporated on December 29, 1945, by Mohammed Hashim Premji in Amalner, Maharashtra, as Western India Vegetable Products Limited, which was later abbreviated to Wipro.
