Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) was established on October 5 1992 in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the 29th Sultan of Brunei, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mui'zzaddin Waddaulah's accession to the throne. This foundation is the foundation of His Majesty, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and his family members, especially to the people and residents of Brunei Darussalam  .

In enhancing the welfare and well-being of the people and the people of Brunei Darussalam, the setting up of the foundation focuses more on the fields of Religious, Welfare, Education, Development and Finance.

Projects and activities

Among the projects and activities operated under this foundation are:

• accommodating the cost of construction and preservation and for managing the activities of a mosque's notorious,
• entrepreneurial support (small business) assistance to the less fortunate,
• provide support and sponsorship to NGOs that conduct development and rehabilitation programs for the disabled,
• the award of Sultan's Scholar scholarship to outstanding students to pursue studies at renowned universities,
• construction of aid houses to the less fortunate and new relatives or muslim converts,
• involvement in the field of investment in which the returns from the investment were used to finance some of the projects and activities undertaken by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
