It was discovered in 2006 on a farm, hence its name. Petani refers to a farmer in the Indonesian language.[1] There are some 250 known species of bent-toed geckos, or bow-fingered geckos as they are also known. Unlike other geckos, members of Cyrtodactylus have slender, curved toes. Not much is known of this particular species, and existing pictures have not been confirmed as accurate.[2] References1. ^{{NRDB species |genus= Cyrtodactylus |species= petani |accessdate=22 March 2018}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q29165609}}{{Use dmy dates|date=August 2018}}2. ^{{cite web |title=Cyrtodactylus petani RIYANTO, GRISMER & WOOD, 2015 |url=http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/species?genus=Cyrtodactylus&species=petani |website=Reptile Data Base |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 2 : Cyrtodactylus|Reptiles described in 2015 |
