Muhammad Hammad Azhar ({{Lang-ur|{{Nastaliq|محمد حماد اظہر}}}}) is a Pakistani politician who is the current Minister of State for Revenue, in office since 11 September 2018. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.

Personal life

He was born to the former Governor of Punjab Mian Muhammad Azhar.[1]

He is a barrister by profession.[1]

Political career

He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2011.[1]

He ran for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of PTI from Constituency NA-121 (Lahore-IV) in Pakistani general election, 2013 but was unsuccessful. He received 68,307 votes and lost the seat to Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed.[2]

He was elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PTI from Constituency NA-126 (Lahore-IV) in Pakistani general election, 2018.[3]

On 11 September 2018, he was inducted into the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan[4] and was appointed as Minister of State for Revenue.[5][6]
