The team of engineers perform on site equipment calibrations and PAT Testing, as required by the CQC.[4] Founded in 2005, the company quickly outgrew its original head office of Loughton, Essex and moved to a new building and distribution centre based in Nazeing, Essex.[5] In 2017, MidMeds again moved to a larger premises, this time located in Hertford, Hertfordshire.[6] MidMeds currently supplies to over 50 countries around the world. In 2016, MidMeds expanded into the Nursing Home Care market, launching a larger, specialist product range.[7] The company has a diverse range of customers, including; primary care practices, NHS hospitals, private hospitals, doctors, surgeries, independent midwives, nurses and private consumers.[8][9] MidMeds is the medical consumables, equipment, and testing supplier of the LMC Buying Group, a federation made up of 53 buying groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The LMC Buying Group membership means thousands of surgeries across the UK can receive major discounts on many products in the MidMeds range. The LMC partnership also includes the Londonwide LMC group, meaning over 7,000 further surgeries can receive product discounts.[10] Since its founding, MidMeds has been heavily involved in a range of health-related charities.[11][12] Charities sponsored by MidMeds includes; Bliss, Great Ormond Street Hospice Children's Charity, NSPCC and Cancer Research UK. To support these charities, MidMeds holds regular fundraising events.
