Nitish Jain (born 15 February 1961) is an Indian educationist, philanthropist, and President of SP Jain School of Global Management (SP Jain), a Sydney-based business school that also has campuses in Dubai, Singapore and Mumbai.

Nitish is the recipient of several awards in recognition of his efforts in modernising business education and promoting global employability among business graduates. In 2010, he won the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award by the CMO Asia, and the Award for Excellence by the Australia India Business Council in 2014, presented by Her Excellency Julie Bishop, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Australia.

The same year, Nitish was selected by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join his official delegation of CEOs to Australia post the G20 summit.[1][2] Over 3 days, Nitish, along with top CEOs, business leaders and visionaries from India, joined the PM in presenting his "Make in India" campaign to Australia’s business community.

Early life and education

Nitish is the son of S C Jain and Neera Jain, and grandson of the late Shriyans Prasad Jain, parliamentarian, industrialist and philanthropist who was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 1988. Nitish, and his brother Vivek, were raised in Mumbai and educated at the Cathedral and John Connon School. He pursued his undergraduate degree from Sydenham College, Mumbai University, and an MBA from Cornell University, USA.

S P Jain School of Global Management

Although Nitish was closely associated with education from an early age, his most notable achievement was the founding of SP Jain School of Global Management, a business school named after his grandfather. After founding the School in Dubai in 2004, Nitish went on to set up three other international campuses for SP Jain in Singapore, Sydney and most recently, in Mumbai, India. By having campuses in four of the world’s top financial and business centres, Nitish and SP Jain were able to successfully introduce multi-city residential undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The School has also offers a wide range of Professional Technology Executive Education and Development programs for working professionals, and a Global Family Managed Business program.

Under Nitish’s leadership, S P Jain has in a short span of eleven years, carved a niche for itself as a modern business school that is ranked among the world’s best by:

Reimagining business education through disruptive innovation

In 2015, under the leadership of Nitish Jain, SP Jain kick-started a movement to reimagine business education and offer redesigned, innovative programs to business graduates. As part of this movement. SP Jain launched several computer-aided teaching platforms like blended learning, simulation centres, decision-making laboratories, and subjects that focus purely on Global Immersion, into its undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. Many of these tools were developed as a direct result of intense discussions with industry partners, recruiters and in-house faculty members drawn from top institutes like Harvard, Duke and Oxford.

These changes earned S P Jain, and Nitish Jain, the title of Game Changer in Education in Forbes magazine’s Middle East edition[15][16] and subsequently in 2017, by the CEO Middle East.[17]

In the media

Nitish is considered an international authority in global business education, and has appeared on several international publications and broadcast media like the Sydney Morning Post,[18] Bloomberg TV (Hong Kong and India),[19] BBC (Singapore), Zee TV (Singapore), Khaleej Times (Dubai), and Channel 9 News and the Australian (Australia).
