The Oxford e-Research Centre (OeRC) is part of the Department of Engineering Science within the University of Oxford[1] in England and specialises in e-Research – the use of information technology to support existing and new forms of research across a wide range of disciplines. The Centre was founded in 2006[2] and focuses on multidisciplinary projects, bringing together researchers from across Oxford University and beyond. OeRC has received EPSRC UK government funding.[3] The Centre participated in SOCIAM: The Theory and Practice of Social Machines, led in Prof. Sir Nigel Shadbolt with Prof. David De Roure, Director OeRC, as co-investigator.[4] OeRC is home to over 50 researchers.
