Crown Prince Sangkye or Crown Prince Wanpung (January 21, 1769 - November 20, 1786) was crown prince of Korean Joseon dynasty, a adopted son of Jeongjo of Joseon and biological child of Prince Euneon. His first name was Yi Jun(이준 李濬) and changed name was Yi Dam (이담 李湛), other name was Yi Shik (이식 李湜). In 1776 to 1782, he was a leading remainderman of early Jeongjo ruled times. his posthumous epithet was unknown.

Life

He was born January 21, 1769 in Hanseong, son of Prince Euneon and his wife Lady Song of Sangsan, a daughter of Song Rak-hyu, grave keepers. His father was the son of Crown Prince Sado and his great-grand father was King Yeongjo. During his early childhood he was adopted to Jeongjo of Joseon by Hong Guk-yeong.[1] His first name was Yi Jun.

In January 21, 1784 he was married to Lady Shin of Pyeongsan, a daughter of Shin oh.[4]

In November 20, 1786 Crown Prince Sangkye was suddenly poisoned to death with leave room for questions. some persons was point criminal to Hong Guk-yeong or his original father Prince Euneon,[5] or other some King Jeongjo's gentlemans. After his death, his funeral and grave was Yeonhul Gung castle, vicinity of Sinchon station and Yonsei Universitys. His funeral was personally arranged by his adoptive father King Jeongjo.

In 1801, his mother Lady Song of Sangsan and his wife Lady Sin of Sangkye was executed for reason is believe in Catholicism also Neo-Confucianism was the state religion in Joseon dynastys. He is even more not reinstated, reason is close family member of other believe heathens. In June 17, 1849 he was amnesty and rehabilitate of king Cheoljong of Joseon, his one half-nephews.[6]
