BattleAfter the third battle of Vailele, the Allies declared that so long as the Mataafans stay out of Apia, they would not take action against them. The following month, on April 25, the Mataafans attacked an American marine patrol outside of Apia, but the rebels were driven off.[1][2] References1. ^Mains, pg. 249 {{coord missing|Samoa}}{{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Apia, Second Battle of}}2. ^Clowes, pg. 457-459 6 : Battles of the Second Samoan Civil War|History of Apia|1899 in Samoa|Battles of the Second Samoan Civil War involving the United States|Punitive expeditions of the United States|April 1899 events |
