She had a strong influence over her husband and was known for her knowledge of modern science and astrology. She was popular with the British and visitors would often bring her gifts relating to her astrological interests.[1] Although she was described as an “evil queen,” who abused her power, negatively impacting Burma,[2] she was also known for her extraordinary kindness.[3] She died in 1876 and was buried in the Mandalay Palace stockade.[4] Her tomb was the third erected within the sacred precincts of the Palace, the first being that of Khin The (the Queen of the Northern Palace), the favourite wife of King Mindon.[4] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://umoar.mu.edu.mm/bitstream/handle/123456789/177/Myanmar%20Polity%20(1819-1885)%20Soe%20Aung.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y|website=umoar.mu.edu.mm|access-date=2018-12-23}} 2. ^{{Cite news|url=https://englishkyoto-seas.org/2014/05/vol-2-no-3-book-reviews-ashley-wright/|title=Vol. 2, No. 3, BOOK REVIEWS, Ashley WRIGHT|date=2014-05-20|work=CSEAS Journal, Southeast Asian Studies|access-date=2018-12-23|language=en-US}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://sanooaung.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/compassionate-letter-no-4the-most-remarkable-leader-of-our-time/|title=Compassionate letter No 4:The most remarkable leader of our time|date=2008-05-13|website=San Oo Aung's Weblog|language=en|access-date=2018-12-23}} 4. ^1 {{cite book|title=List of Ancient Monuments in Burma (I.
