He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, Upper house of the Parliament of India from Madhya Pradesh as a member of the Indian National Congress.[2] [3]CareerVivek Tankha was one of the youngest Advocate Generals of Madhya Pradesh(16 February 1999 to November 15, 2003) Tankha was Designated Senior Advocate by the Full Court of the High Court in 1999.[4] He was offered a Judgeship by bench of M. P. High Court in April 1998 but he sought forgiveness for personal reasons.[5] He was also the first lawyer from Madhya Pradesh to have been appointed Additional Solicitor General of India.
