BiographyRosenzweig was born to a Jewish family in Los Angeles[1] and graduated from Montebello High School in 1955.[2] His father was a schoolteacher and his mother a civil servant.[1] Rosenzweig graduated from University of Southern California.[1] His first job was in the mailroom at MGM although he soon became a publicist, a position he disliked.[1] With the aid of his father-in-law, Aaron Rosenberg, he secured a position as a producer.[1] He produced the 1980s television series Cagney & Lacey[3] written by his then wife Barbara Corday and Barbara Avedon. He also produced the 1960s series Daniel Boone, as well as a dozen episodes of Charlie's Angels.[4] He subsequently created and produced The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, which starred his third wife Sharon Gless and ran for two seasons in the early 1990s. Personal lifeWhile a senior in college, he married JoAnne Lang, the stepdaughter of producer Aaron Rosenberg; they had three daughters - Erika (born 1960), Allyn (born 1962), and Torrie (born 1964) - before divorcing in 1978.[1][10] In 1979, Rosenzweig married Barbara Corday, a producer and writer for Cagney & Lacey; they divorced in 1990.[3][5] In 1991, he married the Cagney & Lacey star Sharon Gless.[6][5] References1. ^1 2 3 4 5 People: "Cagney & Lacey Creators Barbara Corday and Barney Rosenzweig Mix Cops, Controversy and Marriage" by Jane Hall November 25, 1985 2. ^{{Cite web |url=http://www.montebelloalumni.org/index/HOF_Inductees.html |title=Archived copy |access-date=2015-03-03 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150402131230/http://www.montebelloalumni.org/index/HOF_Inductees.html |archive-date=2015-04-02 |dead-url=yes |df= }} 3. ^1 {{cite book|last=Gregory|first=Mollie|title=Women Who Run the Show: How a Brilliant and Creative New Generation of Women Stormed Hollywood|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=5tCfQwmHIq0C&pg=PA236|accessdate=2 March 2014|date=2003-11-01|publisher=St. Martin's Press|isbn=9780312316341|pages=236–}}{{dead link|date=April 2014}} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.cagneyandlacey.com/Biographies/biography---barney-rosenzweig |title=Biography - Barney Rosenzweig |accessdate=April 10, 2014}} 5. ^1 2 [https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2011/oct/08/sharon-gless-my-family-values The Guardian: "Sharon Gless: My family values - The actor, best known for her role as Cagney in Cagney & Lacey, talks about her family" Nikki Spencer] 7 October 2011 6. ^[https://careers.usc.edu/events/_m/bios/entertainment_bios.pdf Special Access: Insider’s Guide to the Entertainment Industry; April 26, 2007, 6-9 p.m.] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140309010111/https://careers.usc.edu/events/_m/bios/entertainment_bios.pdf |date=March 9, 2014 }} University of Southern California.
