He later accepted a scholarship from the University of the Pacific, where he played tight end and defensive end. Professional careerDallas CowboysSandeman was not selected in the 1965 NFL Draft and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys. He injured his knee early in training camp and was placed on the injured reserve list. In 1966, he was being converted to the offensive line, so he played both on offense and defense.[1] He played in eight games before being placed on the injured reserve list. New Orleans SaintsHe was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 1967 NFL expansion draft.[2] He was released after playing in two games. Atlanta FalconsHe was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Falcons in 1967.[3] He became the regular starter at left tackle the next year, before suffering a crushed disk on his back.[4] In 1971, he regained his starter position. In 1973, he started 12 games but was limited with knee problems.[5] The next year, he was placed on the injured reserve list after having back surgery to correct a slipped disk.[6] He announced his retirement on July 17, 1975.[7] References1. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=861&dat=19670211&id=8_9ZAAAAIBAJ&sjid=DUsNAAAAIBAJ&pg=3767,1196989 | title=Names In Sports | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 2. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1314&dat=19670817&id=fGtWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=B-kDAAAAIBAJ&pg=7269,588766 | title=Are Saints Best Expansion Club? | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1734&dat=19711103&id=vegbAAAAIBAJ&sjid=wlEEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5343,235971 | title=Bargain Backfield Boosts Falcons | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 4. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1242&dat=19690724&id=TUdTAAAAIBAJ&sjid=YoYDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6632,3086228 | title=Falcons Football Fever Is Running High | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 5. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=861&dat=19740903&id=r2AdAAAAIBAJ&sjid=VlsEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6919,559696 | title=Pro Charts | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 6. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1876&dat=19740821&id=uz4sAAAAIBAJ&sjid=C80EAAAAIBAJ&pg=4202,4147335 | title=Sandeman Is Lost For Year | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} 7. ^{{cite web| url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1876&dat=19750718&id=soYsAAAAIBAJ&sjid=_cwEAAAAIBAJ&pg=2416,2928007 | title=Sandeman Retiring | accessdate=February 19, 2017}} External links
