In those times, Durania functioned as a transport location between the Chitarero and Motilon peoples. Modern Durania was founded on May 1st, 1911 by Segundo Antonio Gonzáles and Virginia Acosta de Gonzáles.[2] References1. ^1 {{es}} Geografía de Durania {{Municipalities nortedesantander department}}2. ^{{es}} Historia de Durania 4 : Populated places in the Norte de Santander Department|Municipalities of the Norte de Santander Department|Populated places established in 1890|1890 establishments in Colombia |
