The district is near Acıgöl lake and Işıklı reservoir. The average altitude is 981 m. It covers an area of 235 km², and has a population (2000) of 8,104 of which 4,013 live on the town of Evciler. The mayor is Saim Özer (CHP). HistoryThe burial mounds of Kocahöyük and Küçükhöyük near Evciler date back to the Lydian civilization. Remains of pottery have been found at Öküzviran and Kocaviran settlements. Evciler todayEvciler is a small town providing schools and other infrastructure to the surrounding villages.
