Its seat is the town of Lądek-Zdrój, which lies approximately {{convert|20|km|mi|0}} south-east of Kłodzko, and {{convert|88|km|mi|0}} south of the regional capital Wrocław. The gmina covers an area of {{convert|117.4|km2|sqmi|1}}, and as of 2006 its total population is 8,781 (out of which the population of Lądek-Zdrój amounts to 6,181, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 2,600). Neighbouring gminasGmina Lądek-Zdrój is bordered by the gminas of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Kłodzko, Stronie Śląskie and Złoty Stok. It also borders the Czech Republic.
