The regency has an area of {{convert|3808.5|km2|abbr=on}}. At the 2010 Census, Kerinci Regency had a population of 229,387; the latest estimate (for January 2014) is 253,258. The capital is Siulak. Kerinci is located {{convert|50|km|abbr=on}} from Jambi City, the capital of Jambi Province. Mount Seven LakeMount Seven Lake is the highest caldera in Southeast Asia {{convert|1950|m|abbr=on}} at above mean sea level, with a lake area of {{convert|960|hectare}}. The mount is called Mount Seven because there are 7 mounts. Mount Seven is located in Kerinci Seblat National Park. The lake has white sandy beach and Mount Seven Waterfall.[1] See also
