{{Unreferenced|date=December 2014}}Dale Nixon is a pseudonym originally used by Greg Ginn of Black Flag to obfuscate the fact that he played bass on the Black Flag album, My War. It has since been used by other artists (typically punk in origin), usually to appear on albums without being in breach of record label contracts that stipulate label exclusivity.- Greg Ginn, founder of the hardcore punk band Black Flag, used the name to credit himself on several releases and as bass guitarist on the record My War.
- Dave Grohl, credited as Dale Nixon by Melvins on their 1992 album King Buzzo.
- Brian Baker (musician), one of the founding members of Minor Threat, was credited as such on the 1992 Dag Nasty album Four on the Floor.
- Dale Nixon is listed as the bass player on the Ryan Adams album Orion (it is likely Ryan himself).
Dale Nixon is also credited as the bass player on the Great Cynics album "Posi". It's assumed that, despite the punk in-joke, it probably wasn't Giles himself. See also- Multiple-use name
