Reedley High School offers many electives such as the VROP classes that offer hands-on career experience, video production, computer graphics and design, woodshop, automechanics, floral design, virtual enterprise, on your own, fashion, Microsoft certification, photography, veterinary science, peer counseling, student council, fitness and conditioning, and many other specialty classes. RHS offers many AP classes and Honors classes ranging from English to Psychology and French to World Cultures. There are also many academically-related clubs and activities that are active throughout the campus. NJROTCOne of the clubs or commonly known as classes, on the Reedley High Campus that adds lots of potential, success and leadership ability is the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), which is located within Area 11 just one out of few other ROTC programs, this class is conducted by retired naval personnel, a senior naval science instructor (SNSI) and naval science instructor (NSI), which is determined by the rank given within their time served in the navy. During the years of 2001 to 2006 Master Chief James Okray (SNSI) and Chief Petty Officer Joseph Arruda (NSI) were the two teachers upholding the classes to their fullest potential along the sides of the students, the fourth years which normally consist of ranking officers teaching the third second and first years how to gain leadership ability and military knowledge. In 2006 Master Chief Okray moved on to bigger and better things, leaving RHS with a new SNSI in the class, Reedley High gained Lt. Commander David J.Brunkhorst, who served 25 years in the navy and retired in 2006 to teach at Reedley High School along the side of Chief Petty Officer Joseph Arruda. In the year 2006/2007 the unit won an Outstanding Achievement for Area 11. In 2007 Lt. Commander David J Brunkhorst left the school, as did fellow Chief Petty Officer Joseph Arruda, leaving the Reedley High NJROTC program to settle with two more teachers, little did this unit know Master Chief James Okray (NSI) came back to teach, the unit also gained Warrant Officer Daryl Stocking (SNSI) from the Parlier ROTC program, this year 2007/2008. The program has proven to have one of the best shooting teams in the West. 2008 will be Warrant Officer Daryl Stockings' last year as the SNSI at Reedley High, because he filed a grievance against the district concerning pay and the superintendent of personnel didn't renew his contact. RHS will be gaining yet another SNSI in the last three years. BandThe music program has been very successful as well. The majority of the students haven't taken any type of private lessons. The marching band competes in many festivals and always seem to be the favorite or most talked about. The biggest competition is the annual Selma Band Review. In 2000, the marching band consisted of 415 members and were personally invited to participate in the 2000 Rose Parade. The Band's 325 members regularly tour Northern and Southern California and have participated in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Disneyland Christmas Parade, the San Jose Holiday Parade, the Raiders Pre-game show, the Hawaiian Punch Bowl, and many other famous events. After marching season, the music students are divided into 4 music programs by audition. The 5 directors hold auditions and decide whether that student should go to Intermediate Band, Triad Band, Concert Band, or Symphonic Band for concert season. Selma Band Review:- 2017 Season, the Pirate Band placed 1st in the Parade Competitipon and placed 2nd in the Field show.- 2018 Season, the Pirate Band placed 1st in Parade, High Visual Effect, Grand Sweepstakes, and Grand Marshall.ChoirRHS also has an award-winning vocal program with students auditioning to be placed into the 4 singing groups, the highest being Madrigals which consists of only 8–10 singers.
