HistoryThe city and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency funded the design and construction of the current $1.25 million depot, which opened in July 2006.[2] Designed by Studio SMS of nearby Roseville and inspired by historic 19th and early 20th century stations, the depot is dominated by a clock tower. The building is finished in a random ashlar stone veneer in varying shades of grey and beige and stucco with complementary brown tones.[2] In FY2012 Rocklin was the 43rd-busiest of Amtrak's 74 California stations, boarding or detraining an average of about 90 passengers daily.[3] DesignThe depot has a waiting room for rail and bus passengers, and there are also offices for the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce as well as a room reserved for community meetings.[2] Rocklin station has moveable patforms to accommodate Union Pacific's rotary snowplows, which require clearance of {{cvt|8|in|cm}} above the rail.[4]{{dubious|reason=Summarizing edits by Tim Zukas, apparently based on OR|date=April 2012}} Platforms and tracks{{ja-rail-linem|first=2|pfn=Westbound|span=2|nolinkindex=Capitol Corridor|linecol=#{{Amtrak color|Capitol Corridor}}|dir=toward San Jose (Roseville)}}{{ja-rail-linem|nolinkindex=California Zephyr|linecol=#{{Amtrak color}}|dir=No stops}}{{ja-rail-linem|pfn=Eastbound|span=2|nolinkindex=Capitol Corridor|linecol=#{{Amtrak color|Capitol Corridor}}|dir=toward Auburn (Terminus)}}{{ja-rail-linem|first=3|nolinkindex=California Zephyr|linecol=#{{Amtrak color}}|dir=No stops}}References1. ^{{cite web|title=Amtrak Fact Sheet, Fiscal Year 2017, State of California |website=|publisher=Amtrak|url=https://www.amtrak.com/content/dam/projects/dotcom/english/public/documents/corporate/statefactsheets/CALIFORNIA17.pdf|accessdate=3 January 2018}} 2. ^1 2 Great American Stations.
