She was a member of a Viennese family of artists, which included her father, {{Interlanguage link multi|Carl Schweninger the Elder|de|3=Carl Schweninger der Ältere}}.[1] She studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Frederick Sturm from 1869 to 1871.[2] Her work includes portraits and florals.[3] Her paintings were shown at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair & Exposition.[1] The Zwei Lieder, op. 20, by Viennese composer {{Interlanguage link multi|Bertha von Brukenthal|de}} are dedicated to her.
