It is located along the southern shore of the Sørfolda fjord, about {{convert|20|km}} north of the municipal centre of Straumen.[2] Røsvik had 209 residents in 2007, but it has since fallen below 200.[3][4] The village is home to a nursing home, a psychiatric hospital, and Røsvik Church.
