The building is currently used as a private catering hall for weddings, proms and other events.[1] The operation is run by Crystal Ball Group, incorporated under a concession from the city's parks department. The firm pays the department 20% of the gross receipts or $2.5 million a year, whichever is greater.[4] Chief architect Allan Gordon Lorimer, engineers John Kyle and Ray Monte, and planning chief E.
