As of the 2010 census, the population was 5.[3] HistoryFreeport was founded in 1885.[4] It was located on the Missouri Pacific Railway.[5] A post office has been in operation at Freeport since 1885.[6] Besides the post office the community has a grain elevator and a church.[7] Until November 2017, it was the smallest incorporated city in the state of Kansas. The median age in the community was 66.5 years. 0.0% of residents were under the age of 18; 20% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 0.0% were from 25 to 44; 20% were from 45 to 64; and 60% were 65 years of age or older. There were 3 households out of which none had persons under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% were married couples living together, and 33.3% had a female householder with no husband present. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 2.00. In the community, the population was spread out with 33.3% from 45 to 64, and 66.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 66 years. For every 100 females, there were 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100 males. The median income for a household in the community was $31,250, and the median income for a family was $31,250. Males had a median income of $0 versus $0 for females. The per capita income for the community was $14,590. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.
