Its area is {{convert|1503|km2}}, and its resident population was 148,032 in 2009.[2] Its capital is Lebedinovka. The district surrounds Bishkek, but does not include it, because the city forms a region-level unit of its own.[3] Rural communities and villagesIn total, Alamüdün District include 50 settlements in 17 rural communities ({{lang|ky|aiyl okmotus}}).
