It is the namesake of the unincorporated community of Belle Alliance.[2][3] The town and the plantation are located on the east bank of Bayou Lafourche, about {{convert|5|mi|km}} southwest of Donaldsonville and about {{convert|0.62|mi|km}} northeast of Belle Rose.
