Broderick's term following his predecessor's death in a duel. Haun was born to John Haun and wife Katherine Winter Haun at Haun's Mill near Lexington, Kentucky. On October 27, 1848 he married a cousin, Catherine Haun. The couple traveled overland to California during the gold rush of 1849. They had two children, Kate (b. 1851) and David Rose (b. 1853). Career1845In 1845 Haun was the Prosecuting Attorney of Scott County, Kentucky.[1] 1846In 1846 he was the delegate of the Iowa Constitutional Convention.[1] 1851–1854From 1851 to 1854 he was justice for the Yuba County Court.[1] 1859 - 1860From November 1859 to February 1860 he served as senator. DeathHaun died on June 6, 1860 in Marysville, California at age 45, three days after returning from Washington, D.C.[1] External links
