Hexagon’s macro products are used within construction and engineering industries, while micro products are used primarily by automotive and aerospace industries, medical industries and design industry. Hexagon's other operations focus on supplying components primarily to the heavy automotive industry as well as key components for industrial robots. Hexagon held its first annual conference Hexagon 2011 which combined Intergraph®, ERDAS, Leica Geosystems and Hexagon Metrology groups. HistoryHexagon AB was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and provides products to design, measure, and position objects. Surveyors, government agencies, mapping companies, construction, and security and defense related industries are the primary customers of their services. Hexagon AB acquired ERDAS{{when|date=March 2018}}{{cn|date=March 2018}} a company that launched in 1978.[3] ERDAS developed various products to process satellite imagery from AVHRR, Landsat MSS and TM, and Spot Image into land cover, land use maps, map deforestation, and assist in locating oil reserves.[4] In February 2017, the company acquired United States CAE company MSC Software.[5] In June 2018, the company announced the acquisition of AutonomouStuff, one of the world’s leading suppliers of integrated autonomous vehicle solutions.
