The album reached no. 50 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.[1][7] OverviewIn the Name of Love was produced by EWF's leader Maurice White for Kalimba Productions. Originally the album was released in Japan during 1996 as Avatar.[8]During October 2006 In the Name of Love was reissued on Maurice White's label Kalimba Music. With the LP's reissue came three bonus tracks from Avatar being Change Your Mind, Take You to Heaven and Bahia.[1] CoversThe track "Love Is Life" was covered by EWF on the album. Love Is Life first appeared on the band 's 1971 debut LP, Earth, Wind & Fire.[11] Critical receptionThe Guardian described In The Name Of Love as a "scorching" album.[2] Allmusic also called the LP an "excellent cd".[1]Singles"Change Your Mind" rose to No. 26 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart.
